The department of state services says it has confirmed a plot by some key players to install an interim government and stop Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being inaugurated as president.
In a statement on Wednesday, the public relations officer of the secret police Peter Afunaya said the department of state services have identified some key players in the plot for an interim government in Nigeria. He noted that the services considers the plot being pursued as not just an aberration but a mischievous way to set aside the constituition and undermine civil rules as well as plunge the country into an avoidable crisis.
The DSS also warned that the illegality is totally unacceptable in a democracy and to the peace loving Nigerians.
Meanwhile the chairman of IPAC(Interparty advisory council) Yabagi Sani has asked the DSS to name and also apprehend that it said are behind the plans to install an interim government in the country. He said law enforcement agencies should not demonstrate that nobody is above the law to serve as deterrent to others who might have other plans to scuttle democracy in the country.
Yabagi, who was the presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party in the February 25 presidential election added that democracy is too precious and must be protected by the security agencies.
