The students of Federal University Oye Ekiti have demanded justice in the killing of one of their colleagues, Modupe Atanda, who was until her death, a student in the Nursing Department.
The students, under the aegis of the Students’ Union Government, called on the security agencies to get to the root of the matter and bring the perpetrators of the dastardly act to book.
The police in the state had on Thursday disclosed that the student, who was earlier declared missing, was found dead and buried in a shallow grave near the university’s Nursing Lecture Theatre.
FUOYE SUG President, Emmanuel Ajayi, and the Public Relations Officer, Elizabeth Akuraku, who mourned the slain student, said, the cause of death and manner in which she died is a thing of great pain to the entire student populace in FUOYE.
The students said that they visited the morgue and no part of her body was mutilated contrary to claims and rumour flying around.
Earlier, the Police Commissioner in Ekiti State, Dare Ogundare, said that the Command will do everything possible to unearth the identity of the perpetrator(s) and ensure they are made to face the full wrath of the law.
