ARSENAL IN TALKS TO BRING BACK NANTES FORWARD FROM LOAN

Seeking to fortify their offensive options for the second half of the season, Arsenal are reportedly in talks with FC Nantes regarding the potential early return of loanee Marquinhos.
The 20-year-old Brazilian forward, who arrived at the Ligue 1 club in August on a season-long loan, has seen limited playing time, making only one start for Nantes thus far. However, his promising debut performance, featuring a goal and an assist in the Europa League victory against FC Zurich, coupled with his long-term contract with Arsenal signed in 2022, has kept him on the Gunners’ radar.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, discussions between Arsenal and Nantes are underway regarding an early termination of Marquinhos’ loan. This potential move reflects manager Mikel Arteta’s desire to bolster his attacking options as Arsenal look to maintain their impressive Premier League form and push for success in multiple competitions.
Marquinhos’ limited playing time at Nantes suggests a potential lack of fit with their system, while his previous contributions at Arsenal hint at his potential contribution to Arteta’s plans. Whether the two clubs can reach an agreement and Marquinhos returns to North London this January remains to be seen, but one thing is clear: his future development and eventual impact on the Arsenal roster are under close scrutiny.
