With the buzz of anticipation growing ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations, two more key players have landed in the Super Eagles camp: AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze and Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. Their arrival in Abu Dhabi pushes the number of players assembled to 19, setting the stage for a one-week training camp before departure.
The Eagles will hone their skills in the United Arab Emirates until next Tuesday, then head back to Lagos for a brief pit stop before jetting off to Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10. The tournament itself kicks off on January 13, with the climax set for February 11.
Team Media Officer Babafemi Raji confirmed that preparations for the continental showdown began in earnest on Wednesday evening, as the Eagles gear up to bring home the coveted trophy. With the likes of Chukwueze and Nwabali already in the fold, fans eagerly await the arrival of other stars like William Troost-Ekong, Victor Osimhen, Francis Uzoho, Umar Sadiq, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Alhassan Yusuf.
As the countdown to the first whistle gets shorter, excitement soars for the Super Eagles’ quest for AFCON glory. The team’s blend of established veterans and rising stars promises a potent cocktail of experience and youthful exuberance, making them a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. So, buckle up, Super Eagles fans, the journey to Abidjan is almost underway!
