President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of the former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ali Chiroma.
Tinubu, through a message conveyed by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, on Wednesday, condoled with the family, the organized labour community, and everyone impacted by this painful loss.
According to the Presidency, Chiroma was the former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) who equally held various positions within the trade union hierarchy.
Recalling the endeavours of the former labour leader at a trying time in the life of the nation, Tinubu affirmed that Chiroma stood up for the independence of the NLC and doggedly defended the downtrodden when it mattered the most.
He prayed that Almighty Allah grant repose to the soul of the departed while assuring the family of the elder statesman of his thoughts and prayers in this moment of grief.
