The Ondo State governorship election has come to a close, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner ¹. This victory marks a significant milestone for the APC in the state.
Aiyedatiwa’s win was nothing short of impressive, as he cleared all 18 local government areas in the state. This landslide victory is a testament to the APC’s strong presence in Ondo State .
The election was also commended for being peaceful, with civil society organizations praising the conduct of the poll. This peaceful atmosphere is a welcome change from the tensions that often accompany elections in Nigeria.
However, not everyone is pleased with the outcome of the election. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed dissatisfaction with the election, describing it as the “worst election conducted by the Commission”.
Despite this, Aiyedatiwa’s victory has been congratulated by notable figures, including Tinubu and Barau. Their congratulations are a testament to the APC’s strong showing in the election.
As Aiyedatiwa begins his term as governor, he will face the challenge of addressing the needs and concerns of the people of Ondo State. With his landslide victory, he has a strong mandate to make positive changes in the state.
