Osun State Government under the leadership of Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke has vowed to support its Oyo State counterpart on the development of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCFTA) Sub-National implementation strategy.

One of the important objectives of the AFCFTA is to create a single market that will help facilitate the free movement of persons, goods, services and investments.

The Commissioner said, “according to the AFCFTA factsheet, with a combined GDP of an estimated US$3.4 trillion, the pact links 1.3 billion people living in different parts of the continent, it promises to turn Africa into a modern, industrialised, cohesive and influential player on the global stage”.

The Commissioner who expressed his delight applauded the government of Oyo State led by Engnr. Seyi Makinde for deeming it fit to put the consultative forum together at this critical point of our economic existence.
