FAAN Ejects Firm Over Illegal Vehicle Clamping at Abuja Airport

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has ordered the immediate removal of a transport company accused of illegally clamping vehicles and charging motorists 25,000 naira penalties at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
The action follows a public complaint by a lawyer identified as Ogundele. He alleged that enforcement staff clamped cars for brief stops under the airport’s no-parking and no-pick-up rules, then directed payments to personal accounts and POS operators instead of official channels.
Official payments, he claimed, could take hours or days to clear, while the unofficial ones were processed at once.
FAAN Director of Public Affairs Michael Achimugu said Managing Director Olubunmi Kuku ordered the firm’s ejection after the complaint was escalated. Kuku confirmed the company had no current agreement and had been previously warned against such practices.
FAAN stressed it will act against any illegality that inconveniences airport users.
