JONATHAN’S EX-CHIEF OF STAFF DIES IN ABUJA

Retired General Jones Oladeinde Arogbofa, who served as Chief of Staff to former President Goodluck Jonathan, passed away on Saturday in Abuja. He was 72 years old.

Arogbofa, a native of Ondo State, had a distinguished career in the Nigerian Army, rising to the rank of Brigadier General before his retirement in 2004. He later entered politics and served as Jonathan’s Chief of Staff from 2014 to 2015.

News of his passing elicited shock and sadness across the nation. Former President Jonathan expressed his condolences, praising Arogbofa as “a dedicated and loyal Nigerian who served our nation and humanity to the best of his abilities.”

Jonathan further recognized Arogbofa’s “enviable record” in both public service and the military, highlighting his “sincere patriotism.”
