Bank of Industry’s Palliative Food Program

Written by on March 25, 2024

In response to the prevailing economic challenges faced by Nigerians, the Bank of Industry (BOI) has introduced a palliative food programme aimed at providing relief to the populace.

Recently inaugurated by the Minister for Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, at the BOI headquarters in Lagos, this initiative underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the most vulnerable segments of society.

Dr. Olasupo Olusi, the Managing Director of BOI, emphasized the institution’s collaboration with the Federal Government to ensure effective distribution of palliatives across all 36 states, including the Federal Capital Territory, with an initial focus on Lagos and Abuja.

Under this programme, BOI plans to engage its food processing customers to procure essential food items at reasonable prices. Additionally, it will collaborate with state governors to facilitate the distribution of these items to those in need.

In addition to the palliative food programme, BOI has recently launched the Presidential Conditional Grant Scheme. This scheme aims to provide N50,000 grants to eligible small businesses operating across various sectors nationwide, further demonstrating BOI’s commitment to supporting economic resilience at the grassroots level.
