Federal Government Confirms No Ransom Paid for Rescued Kaduna School Children

Following the successful rescue operation of kidnapped schoolchildren from Kuriga village in Kaduna State, the Federal Government has unequivocally stated that no ransom was paid for their release.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a press briefing after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja today.
Minister Idris conveyed President Tinubu’s appreciation to the National Security Adviser (NSA), Service Chiefs, and all individuals involved in the rescue mission, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
It is noteworthy that President Tinubu had previously affirmed the government’s stance against paying ransom for abducted victims, reiterating this resolve amidst recent incidents.
Additionally, Minister Idris disclosed that President Tinubu has instructed security agencies to intensify their efforts in combating the scourge of kidnapping across the nation, underlining the administration’s proactive measures to address security challenges.
