Chelsea’s talented young player,Cole Palmer, has been recognized as the PFA Young Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season. This prestigious award acknowledges Palmer’s outstanding performances and immense potential over the past year.

The Professional Footballers Association (PFA) announced the winner on their social media account, #PFA, on Tuesday. The PFA Awards ceremony, which celebrates the best of the Premier League, took place on Tuesday night.

Palmer, a product of Manchester City’s academy, had an impressive debut season at Chelsea, scoring 22 goals and providing 11 assists, making him the Premier League’s top scorer. He edged out notable nominees, including Bukayo Saka, Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Joao Pedro, and Michael Olise.

Although Palmer missed out on the main award, he became the third Chelsea player to receive the PFA Young Player of the Year award, following in the footsteps of Scott Parker (2003-04) and Eden Hazard (2013-14). Palmer’s transfer to Chelsea from Manchester City in September for an initial £40 million has proven to be a valuable investment.
