Tragedy Strikes: Promising Nigerian Striker Killed in Fatal Car Crash Shortly After Joining European Club

Tragedy struck on Tuesday morning in Protaras, Cyprus, as 20-year-old Nigerian footballer Paul Julius died in a fatal car accident, according to Sports 247. The collision occurred around 6:30 a.m.

The 74-year-old driver of the other vehicle is receiving hospital treatment but is not critically injured, as reported by enPhileNews.
The Famagusta Traffic Department is investigating the incident and has appealed for witnesses to come forward. Julius’ club, Enosis Neon Paralimni, expressed deep sorrow over the sudden loss of the young player, who was described as determined and steadfast despite challenges to join the team. Julius had signed with Enosis Neon Paralimniou just three weeks ago, on July 30, 2024, after previously playing for Gaish FC in Egypt.
