Bandits have abducted nurses from a Primary Health Care Center (PHC) in Layin Dan Auta village, Kuyello Ward, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to local sources, the assailants initially targeted a primary school in Kuyello but, finding no students present, shifted their focus to the nearby health facility, where they abducted the nurses on duty.
A community leader, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the attack, calling the situation deeply troubling. “The bandits arrived intending to kidnap students from the school, but when they found it empty, they moved to the health center and took the nurses,” the leader reported.
Another local youth leader, Baba Isah, corroborated the incident, stating that two nurses were on duty when the bandits struck. He noted that most patients had already left the center, leaving uncertainty about whether any other individuals were taken.
As of this report, neither the state government nor the police have issued an official statement. Efforts to contact the Police Public Relations Officer for Kaduna Command, ASP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful.
