President Bola Tinubu has flagged off the reconstruction and dualisation of the 58-kilometre Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode Road linking Oyo and Ogun states, and approved the immediate dualisation of the 70-kilometre Abeokuta–Ibadan Road.

Represented by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun at a ceremony in Ibadan, Tinubu described the Ibadan–Ijebu-Ode corridor as a key economic artery connecting to the Lekki axis and the wider South-West.

The project will use continuous reinforced concrete pavement and is expected to finish in under 24 months.

Works Minister Dave Umahi said the Abeokuta–Ibadan dualisation procurement is already underway.

Both schemes form part of broader federal efforts to improve transport links, cut travel times and boost commerce across the region.
