SANWO-OLU SEEKS LAGOSIANS INVOLVEMENT IN ADDRESSING INCESSANT BUILDING COLLAPSE

Written by on November 22, 2023

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged Lagosians to actively participate in curbing the issue of building collapse in the state.

Speaking at the unveiling of the new office building for the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) in GRA, Ikeja, the governor emphasized the need for collective action to address this pressing concern.

“The task of reducing the menace of building collapse in our society is for everyone,” Governor Sanwo-Olu stated. “It requires an attitudinal change across the board.”

He called on Lagosians to report any observed irregularities or distress signs in buildings to the appropriate authorities promptly.

“When you see something going wrong in society, say it out loud,” Governor Sanwo-Olu urged. “LASBCA district and zonal offices are all over the state where you can easily report any distressed building.”

The governor also commended the efforts of LASBCA in regulating construction activities and ensuring compliance with building standards.

“I want to commend the management and staff of LASBCA for their dedication and commitment to their work,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said. “The new office building will provide a conducive environment for them to continue to excel in their duties.”

The construction of the new LASBCA office building is part of the governor’s administration’s efforts to modernize the state’s infrastructure and improve its efficiency in delivering services to the public.
