FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO SPEND N100BN ON SCHOOL FEEDING IN 2024

President Bola Tinubu has signed the 2024 budget, aptly named “Renewed Hope,” into law, injecting a vital N100 billion into the school feeding program. This significant allocation aims to tackle both hunger and education challenges, encouraging school attendance and potentially reducing the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria.
Tinubu highlighted the strategic shift in the budget, prioritizing capital expenditure over recurrent expenses. This focus on investment reflects the “Renewed Hope” theme, aiming for long-term growth and development.
The President’s commitment to the school feeding program goes beyond the budget allocation. In December, he ordered its reintroduction and relocation from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to the Ministry of Education.
