SUPREME COURT AFFIRMS SANWO-OLU’S ELECTION AS LAGOS GOVERNOR

In a unanimous decision, the Supreme Court affirmed the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as Governor of Lagos State. The court dismissed the appeal filed by Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), rejecting arguments about the qualification of Mr. Sanwo-Olu’s running mate, Obafemi Hamzat. The top court confirmed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the March 18 election, clearing doubts about his deputy’s eligibility.
